Arterial Oxygen Content - CaO2

Formula:

Arterial oxygen content: CaO2 = (Hb x 1.34 x (SaO2/100)) + (0.0031 x PaO2)

Normals:

CaO2 normal 16 to 20 vol%

About:

CaO2: Arterial oxygen content in Vol% (mL O2/dL blood). Hb: Hemoglobin content. 1.34: Amount of oxygen that 1g of fully saturanted hemoglobin can hold. SaO2: Arterial oxygen saturation in %. PaO2: Arterial oxygen partial pressure. 0.003: Amount of dissolved oxygen for 1 mmHg of PaO2.
